A benefit is planned to Dan Hansen of Wadena from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, June 19 at the Wadena Alliance Church. Hansen, 54, has kidney failure and has been on dialysis for almost four years. He's had two heart attacks in the last month and needs heart surgery. Hansen has also had a foot ulcer for five years and now has an infection. He has a partial amputation surgery coming up for that foot infection. There will be food and a silent auction during the benefit. Donations can be made to Dan Hansen, 11441 Leaf River Road, Wadena.
The Lutheran Women's Missionary League of the Minnesota North District will be gathering June 18-20 in Bemidji to hold its 28th Biennial District Convention. The LWML is the official women's auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Monday, June 18 at the Sanford Center, Bemidji. The convention begins with a worship service at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.
May 31 • A woman reported a man looking into her window. She startled him and he took off. Deputies were unable to locate him. June 1 • A trailer and license plates were reported stolen. Deputies found the stolen trailer and plates still attached to a tractor. • An enclosed trailer became unhitched from a suburban on the railroad tracks. Before police arrived, people helped reattach the trailer.
May 23 • The Wadena Police Department signed a complaint on, Clinton Albert Gorden, 56, of Wadena, for 5th degree possession of a controlled substance. May 29 • David Leroy Henrichs, 61, of Wadena, was arrested for domestic assault. Henrichs was transported to the Wadena County Jail. May 30 • Eugene Francis Schwab Sr., 50, of Wadena, was arrested for domestic assault and obstructing legal process. Schwab was transported to the Wadena County Jail. June 1

A program featuring author Ben Welter will be held Sunday, June 17 at 2 p.m. at the Robertson Theatre, Wadena. Welter is the former news copy chief at the Star Tribune and his book, "Minnesota Moxie: True Tales of Courage, Muscle and Grit in the Land of Ten Thousand Lakes" is collection of fascinating and inspiring stories culled from Star Tribune newspaper archives.

Tri-County Health Care's monthly Adult Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group, which helps area residents affected by suicide, will meet from 6:30-8 p.m Tuesday, June 19, in the Wesley Conference Room at Tri-County Health Care in Wadena.
A send-off for the WDC student-athletes competing in the Class A State Track and Field Meet will take place at noon on Thursday, June 7 in the Commons at WDC Middle/High School. Eight athletes will compete at Hamline University in St. Paul on Friday and Saturday.
May 21 • Anthony William Adam, 18, of Wadena, was stopped and issued a citation for driving after revocation. • Bobby James Dunkley, 26, of Wadena, was arrested for violating the terms of his parole. Dunkley was transported to the Wadena County Jail. • Kelly Lee Lodahl, 39, of Wadena, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. • Shawn Michael Coon, 47, of Wadena, was issued a citation for disorderly conduct. May 22 • Gregory Duane Hanson, 59, of Wadena, was stopped and issued a citation for no seatbelt.
